BEYOND THE CALL
Gold Line Support Recognition Program
When everything was done right… but the outcome was beyond control.
What This Recognition Means
The Beyond the Call Award recognizes public safety communications professionals—including 911 telecommunicators, dispatchers, and communication specialists—who demonstrate exceptional skill, composure, and compassion during critical incidents where, despite following protocol and giving every possible effort, the outcome was beyond their control.
This recognition is not based on the result—but on the actions taken, the guidance provided, and the ability to remain the calm voice when it mattered most.
Not Every Call Ends in a Save
Some calls stay with you.
The ones where every instruction was given. Every step followed. Every second mattered.
And still—the outcome was beyond control.
This program exists to recognize those moments. Because doing everything right still matters.

How the Program Works
1. Submit a Nomination
Anyone can nominate a public safety communications professional.
2. Review Process
Each submission is evaluated based on performance, protocol adherence, and impact—not outcome.
3. Recognition
Selected individuals are honored through Gold Line Support and shared nationally.
4. Ongoing Recognition
Awards are given on a rolling basis throughout the year.
Recognition matters in public safety communications.
Because even when the outcome is beyond control…
the voice still made a difference.
